Union Minister of State for Energy RK Singh has approved new guidance for charging electric vehicles to boost the consumption of electric vehicles. This guidance was announced on December 14, 2018 by the Ministry of Energy. RK Singh said the new guidance was trying to address the concerns of the vehicle ownrs. This is likely to increase the use of electric vehicles.

A charging infrastructure is being created across the country to address the concerns of electric vehicle owners. A charging station within a distance of 3 km will be made available within that city. Apart from this, a charging station will be set up at a distance of 25 km on both sides of all highways. Construction of the charging station in the country will be done in two phases.


1 charging station will be built at a distance of 3 km
In the first phase, a charging station will be started in the next 1 to 3 years with a population of more than 4 million cities and all the highways connected to it. In the second phase, infrastructure will be prepared for charging at the headquarters of the states' capital and union territories in 3-5 years. Apart from this, fast charging stations will be started every 100 km for heavy electric vehicles.

Private stations will also be started at home and at the office
Private charging stations will also be started at home and at the office. Electricity distribution companies will be allowed for this. It does not require a license of any kind.
