New rule for both existing and new DTH customers

The new Tri Rule applies to both existing and new DTH subscribers, giving existing customers 2 years to receive KYC. Customers who want a new connection will have to get KYC first. Then the set-top-box that comes with the new DTH connection will be installed.

For KYC, customers will have to provide a copy of the government-issued Aadhaar card, driving license, passport, etc.

The KYC for DTH is implemented after the consensus of industry stakeholders. Talks have been going on over the KYC inevitable for the past few months.

Customers have to do KYC of the subscriber before cable operators can get a new connection, after which the new set-top-box will start working. Now the DTH set-top-box will be placed at the same address that will be entered in the Address Connection application form.

To verify customer identity, the cable operator will send OTP to the registered mobile number, after which the set-top-box installation process begins
