Reliance Jio says tariff hike won't affect data consumption
Airtel and Vodafone-Idea also announced a hike in tariffs in December


On Monday, Voda-Idea and Airtel announced a telephone rate hike. On Tuesday, Reliance Jio also announced a rate hike. However, Jio has stated that the rate hike will not affect data consumption. Not to mention that Voda-Idea and Airtel made huge losses last week.

Jio's subscribers grew to 35.52 crore
According to data from Telecom Regulator Tri, Vodafone-Idea and Airtel lost more than 49 million subscribers in September. On the other hand, Reliance Jio has added 69.83 lakh new customers. According to the figures, Airtel lost 23.8 lakh users while Vodafone-Idea lost 25.7 lakh customers in the meantime. So now Airtel has 32.55 crore subscribers, while Vodafone-Idea subscribers have reached 37.24 crore. The number of Jio customers has increased to 35.52 crore.

BSNL added 7.37 lakh new users in September
Meanwhile, public sector company MTNL lost 8,717 users. Its total subscriber base was 33.93 lakh. So 7.37 lakh new subscribers have joined BSNL, bringing the number of its users to 11.69 crore. The Department of Telecom has allowed all companies to share network infrastructure with public entities. So drop in the call drop and increase the mobile data speed.
